Our Story

Hugo Cardenas, owner of the Adriatico Restaurant, was raised in former Yugoslavia. When a teenager, Hugo lived in Bolivia for a few years, and then moved to Germany where he further embraced his love for Mediterranean cuisine. Hugo’s multifaceted upbringing helped him learn other languages.
He speaks six languages, including Italian, German, and Spanish. While in Europe, Hugo traveled to countries surrounding the
Adriatic Sea, focused on finding his own voice in the kitchen. His favorite dishes include braised lamb shank, baked eggplant, and grilled Scampi, all included in the Adriatico Restaurant menu. We tried this new to us restaurant. The hostess (who I found out later is one of the owners) was very friendly and helpful, when we asked to see a menu before deciding to dine - but not pushy. We were seated & ordered. After the first 8 minutes or so my husband and I were both very impressed with what we were seeing and experiencing (wait staff working as a team, very quick & friendly service, very nice/clean/unique ambiance), so much so that I considered asking for the owner when we left so I could share our compliments.A few minutes later the owner himself, Hugo, actually stopped by our table to ask if we were pleased and if we needed anything. I appreciated that very much, and saw him active all evening in the dining room, as well as greeting people at the door as they left. Our water glasses were never less than half full at all times, drink orders arrived within a couple minutes, and our food came out very quickly. Our meals were very delicious, full of flavor. We did not have left overs, as the portions are smaller than most restaurants, but we left satisfied, not hungry at all. I did not get photos, but after having a great dinner we chatted with the table beside us (who were also very impressed with their first visit) and snapped a picture of their lobster plate.

What an amazing place! The food was incredible and the menu was not only interesting but it had something for everyone. We had calamari and the fioccetti as appetizers and I had the sea bass special with a lemon cream sauce and sun dried tomatoes. Everything was delicious and the service and atmosphere only made it even more amazing! The owners, Hugo and his beautiful wife made our night really special. Can’t wait to go back! - Jill Allbritton

Absolutely loved our dining experience. The weather was perfect for sitting outside on their beautiful patio. From Appetizer, to Salad, to our Entrees it was all delicious. Looking forward to returning,

This was an authentic European experience. Nothing was rushed, there was time to enjoy the meal and we were not ushered out the door. The food was very fresh and the dishes were excellent portions. We had the European dips, beef carpaccio and chicken Milanese. All three were delicious! We can’t wait to come back ?also, we recommend sitting outside under the patio lights!
